Imposition of indefinite curfew to pre-empt any untoward incident in the wake of public outcry against killing of Th Manorama in the custody of 17 Assam Rifles has led to rescheduling of examinations and various other programmes.
All the examinations of Manipur University, other than the practical examination of MBBS, MD and MSc have been postponed until further.
New dates of these examinations would be announced after the end of the curfew, controller of examination of the University H Rajmani Singh informed in a release.
The admission test for MSc Chemistry which was scheduled to be conducted on July 22 by the University has also been postponed due to imposition of indefinite curfew in Greater Imphal area as well as in parts of Thoubal and Bishnupur district.
The new date for the admission test would be notified to the candidates later on, head of Chemistry Department, MU Prof SK Srivastava said.
In view of the prevailing situation, Manipur Rifle Association has also postponed its the 14th Manipur Shooting Competition scheduled to be held from July 22 to August 1 until further notification.
The 10-day long district level residential youth leadership training camp to be organized by Imphal East District Youth Affairs and Sports Office with effect from today has also been postponed indefinitely due to clamping of curfew by the State Government.
On the other hand, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Range-1), Manipur Anish Dayal Singh has informed that the physical efficiency test for recruitment rally of 4th IRB in respect of Bishnupur district has been postponed in view of imposition of curfew in Greater Imphal area and in parts of Bishnupur and Thoubal district.
A fresh date for the recruitment rally would be intimated shortly, he said.
The four-day MBC TOT programme for Church workers on prevention and care of HIV/AIDS scheduled to be held from July 20 to 23 at Taphou Rikhumei Tungjoy Church, Senapati district Hqs has also been postponed.
The next date and time for the programme would be communicated again through Associations concerned, a statement issued by MBC project officer Dr Chand Thangmi informed.
