RSS Imphal recalls freedom fighters

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Imphal Zilla has celebrated' the 75th Independence Day of the country at the office of Seva Bharati at Nagamapal in the presence of North East Media Co-ordinator Dr Sunil Mohanty and other RSS members from the locality.
Dr Sunil Mohanty not only recalled India's freedom fighters who stood against British but also the freedom fighters from the North-East, said a statement of RSS Imphal Zilla.
Recalling the sacrifices of Subhas Chandra Bose, Ma-hatma Gandhi, Lal-Bal-Pal and patriots of the State, Dr Sunil Mohanty urged all to take a pledge to help India return to its former glory.
Commemorating the unfurling of Tricolour at Moirang by INA on April 14, 1944 and those who facilitate the cause, he also stated that the words spoken during an interview by North East Centre regarding the event remains fresh and continues to invoke courage.
The sacrificial spirit to lay down life for the freedom of the land should be upheld forever, he said while adding the land has given us a lot and 'thus we should do something for the land in return'.
RSS Imphal Zilla also observed Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas at Seva Bharati Office at Nagamapal.
The observation programme was attended by Deputy Director (Technical Education), Dr Bhabeshwar Tongbram, Dr Sunil Mohanty and Prof Dr Th Naranbabu Singh (National vice president, National Medicos Organisation) as presidium members.
On the occasion Dr Bhabeswar elucidated the significant pilgrimage, religious sites and places of historical significance in India, it said.
India was once a mighty Nation with a great geographical extent but it has shrunk after partition in 1947 and it has been the dream of many to integrate the lost lands and retain the former self of India, said Dr Sunil Mohanty.
It may look impossible but history is evident that unification and reintegration is possible, he said while citing that Germany, Vietnam, Cambodia etc were once divided Nations but reunited and emerged stronger than ever.
All Indians should also work together to make India great again, he continued.
