'Motsillaba Mingsel' wins Grand Jury Award for Best Film

Filmmaker Romi Meitei's short fiction film 'Motsillaba Mingsel' (The Tainted Mirror) has won the Grand Jury Award for Best Film along with House of Illusion Award for Best Short Fiction, while child artiste Master Yaikhomba (Disiraj) was conferred the Film Critic Circle of India Special Mention for the best Child Artiste.
According to a statement released by producer Sheetal Chingsu, the awards were presented during the "Chalachitram National Festival 2021" organised by Directorate of Film Festival and Cultural Department, Assam.
At the Festival, various award-winning films such as Aribam Syam Sharma's "Imagi Ningthem", "Mk Binodini: A Tribute" and Haobam Pabankumar's "The First Lip" were screened to mark the 50th anniversary of Manipuri Cinema.
It may be mentioned here that 'Motsillaba Mingsel' has already won numerous awards at various platforms such as Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Lift off Session United Kingdom, Best Film International Film Festival Awards, Best Director Kochin International Film Festival, Best Child Artiste, Best Cinematography Award at Creative Short Fest and Special Jury Award Manipur State Film Awards.
The film has been released by Pocket Film based in Mumbai, the statement conveyed.
