UCM reaches out to Covid-hit people

Imphal, August 16 2021:
United Committee Manipur (UCM) provided relief materials to Covid-19 affected' people of Lamding Khumanthem Leikai through the local club Lamding Educated Welfare Association (LEWA).
On the occasion, UCM president Joykumar ap pealed to the farmers of the state to make more efforts for increasing the crop yield of the state.
He Said that relying on imported food grains will only worsen the socio-economic condition of the people and the state needs to become self-reliant in terms of food production.
Covid-19 pandemic is giving a hard impact on the economy of the state and it needs to create self-employment avenues in order to get out of this economic mire, he said while calling upon the educated youth to come out with solutions that will improve the economy of the state and its people.
He also spoke about government schemes for farmers and how they may avail financial support from bank for farming activities.
Skilled artisans can also registered with the government and get financial assistance to start ventures, he added.
