MLA of Keirao AC calls for collective efforts to help needy and underprivileged

The Deputy Chairman of Manipur State Planning Board , Lourembam Rameshwor said that there is a need to instil a habit of helping the poor and needy in today's society and to extend best possible help to an ailing person by the residents of its respective village or locality.
Lourembam Rameshwor who is also the MLA of Keirao Assembly Constituency made the above statement while speaking on the sidelines of providing monetary aid of Rs 2.25 lakh to Chanam Open who is a kidney patient from Thiyam Konjil Mamang Leikai in Keirao AC today.
He further stated that with an aim to fulfil the above objective, a mission has been initiated in Keirao AC to help an ailing person in need from the contributions of the people.
Citing an example, he said that monetary aid was extended for the treatment of a cancer patient from Kyamgei Mamang Leikai with the contributions made by the locals initiated by the local youth club of the respective locality along with some monetary assistance from his side and stated that the condition of the said patient has improved.
The MLA continued that the monetary aid provided to Chanam Open has been collected by the volunteers of Social Welfare Educational and Cultural Association (SWECA), an apex body of five youth clubs of Thiyam Konjil village.
Above the amount collected by SWECA, Salaicha Pibarel Punshi Marup also contributed for the cause and he also donated some amount, he added.
He maintained that this particular mission has been initiated with the sole aim to help the poor and underprivileged and is nowhere associated with politics.
General secretary of SWECA, Chanam Sanayaima lauded the MLA for such an initiative and wished him success in all his future endeavours and prayed for the speedy recovery of Chanam Open.
A member of Salaicha Pibarel Punshi Marup, M Ashok also gave assurance that the members will donate blood to Chanam Open whenever there is a need.
