Imphal, September 02 2021:
Two CDO personnel reportedly assaulted Dr K Soreingam of CMC Hospital while he was going home after conducting an emergency surgery on Thursday around 8.15 pm.
Consequent to the incident, the doctor has lodged a complaint to Heingang police station stating that he was on his way back home from CMC hospital along with his wife Dr K Lumthing RV after conducting an emergency operation.
They were stopped by two CDO personnel at Luwangshangbam right in front of the residence of chief minister N Biren.
One of the CDO personnel asked him from where they were coming and he told them that they were returning home from hospital.
However, they kept shouting and repeating the same question.
As he stepped out of the vehicle, one of the personnel slapped him and asked who he was.
As he identified himself as a doctor returning from the hospital, the CDO with name tag CK Mangang demanded to show his ID which he duly complied but the CDO personnel hit him with the AK rifle butt on his head and he blacked out.
As he was recovering from the black out, the other CDO personnel whose name tag was missing forced him to open the boot of the car after which they let them go.
They seem to be in inebriated condition, the doctor said
in his complaint.
