SWC investigates CCpur killing

The State Women Commission today visited the village of a woman who was found murdered inside a concrete drainage here reportedly to hold in-depth investigation on circumstances leading to the sensational homicide.
Headed by its Chairperson Ibotombi Devi, members of the commission on their arrival halted briefly at the District SP's office as well as the police station before heading to Maukot, the victim's village.
Thirty-five-year-old Ngaisuanching was found murdered in the first week of February.
The police have so far arrested five people in connection with the murder and three of them including the victim's former husband have been sent to jail by the Chief Judicial Magistrate while another two are still remanded in police custody.
Though what transpired during the commission's investigation at the remote village was not known, the team arrived back here at around 5pm today.
