Awareness prog on drug abuse held

A one-day awareness programme on prevention of drug abuse and illicit trafficking was held at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai Lairembi Lampak today.
The programme was organized jointly by All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA), Uripok Khoisnam Leikai Development Committee and Khoisnam Leikai Women Welfare Association.
The awareness programme was the 65th of its kind of the series being conducted in different schools of the state.
The inaugural function of the awareness programme was attended by Soibam Hemanta, Advocate; RK Ibungosana, Superintendant of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) RU, Imphal; Ph Phoni, Secretary General of AMADA; Dr H Angomcha, Psychiatrist in Bishnupur District Hospital; Indrajit Tourangbam, member ward number 6; LK Jhalajit, Joint Secretary of Uripok Khoisnam Leikai Development Committee and Pramo, Vice President of Khoisnam Leikai Women Welfare Association as presidium members.
Among the resource persons who attended the programme, RK Ibungosana spoke on the topic of "Drug Abuse Prone to Young Students and its Remedy", Dr H Angomcha on "Substance Abuse in Adolescent and Effect of Psychotropic Drugs in the body" and Soibam Hemanta on "Illicit Trafficking" .
