Imphal, February 23 2012:
Accusing the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) of 'victimising' and 'ignoring the rights of innocent students,' by denying forms to some eligible candidates of the HSLC exam, the Maring Students' Union (MSU) has declared that it would boycott the ensuing High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination.
Announcing this in a statement, President of MSU Moshun Charanga said that the union is very much surprised to learn that a number of eligible students enrolled in different schools in the hill districts are likely to miss the coming HSLC exam due to denial of forms by BOSEM.
Despite BSEM's allotment of registration numbers and eligibility statement for appearing in the HSLC exam to some students, denial of exam forms to the students is a gross violation of Human rights, it contended.
The students' union also strongly condemned the irresponsible act of BSEM for allegedly victimising and ignoring the rights of innocent students.
The statement further warned invigilators/officials and any concerned person to abstain from entering the examination hall or face the consequent.
