Phungyar assembly constituency MLA Wungnaoshang Keishing has proclaimed that appropriate legal action would be initiated against the official concerned in case relevant financial assistance under the Indira Awaz Yojna (IAY) to select beneficiaries of Kasom Khullen is not provided in time.
Addressing inaugural function of cultural programme as a part of the ongoing 22nd general conference cum sports meet of Tangkhul Naga Valley Students' Association at Ramrei playground under Phungyar AC today, the MLA cautioned that in addition to legal action possibility of approaching other organisations to penalise erring officials cannot be ruled out.
Speaking as chief guest, Keishing demanded that 43 beneficiaries selected from Kasom Khullen village to avail financial assistance for house construction under the IAY programme be extended without
delay.
Pointing out that inspite of release of funds for handing over to the beneficiaries complaints have been received regarding their due share not being provided till date, the MLA asserted that the SDO concerned not extending the monetary assistance to the deserving individuals is not only unjustifiable but is also liable to face legal action.
Stating that IAY funds meant for the Kasom Khullen villagers had already been released some 3/4 months back, Keishing reiterated his personal involvement to pull up the guilty official/s.Informing that efforts are being made to improve conditions of surface transport and in the education sector within the Phungyar AC, he also called upon the people to extend cooperation and participate in the development programmes.
The MLA also emphasised on the need for promoting and preserving culture and traditional practice of the respective communities.
The Ramrei event to be held till February 3 is being participated by about 600 delegates from 22 villages.
