To carry on the fight against drugs and alcohol with renewed vigour, the All Manipur Anti-Drug Association, AMADA, in a special sitting presided over by its president at its HQ on January 30 elected new office bearers for the term 2010-2012.The sitting also made some changes among the office bearers of the 2009-10 term, according to a press release from the Gen Secy, AMADA HQ.
The newly elected office bearers for the term 20101-2012 are: President - Moirangthem Padmini Leima, Vice-President - Yumnam Sundaru Leima, Secretary General - Phamdom Phoni Meetei, Asst.
Secretary General - Pheiroijam Abe Chanu, Secretary Finance - Laisram Herojit Meitei, Secretary Publicity & Propaganda - Elangbam Debesore Meetei, Secy Organisation & Co-ordination - Konjengbam Meghachandra Meetie, Secretary Drive Committee - Takhelambam Tembi Leima, Deputy Secy Drive Committee - Elangbam Ibempishak Leima, Secy Human Resource Development - Kongbrailakpam Hemabati Chanu, Deputy Secy HRD - Leirenlakpam tombi Leima, Secy Youth Affairs & Sports - Ngashepam Goutam Khuman, Deputy Secy YAS - Kshetrimayum Kishan Meetei, Secy Women Affairs - Chingangbam Rita Leima, Secy Cultural Affairs - Khulem Sophia Leima, Deputy Secy Cultural Affairs - Khangembam Memcha Leima, Secy Social Welfare - Ningthoukhongjam Bobo Meetei and Office Secy - Thiyam Abung Meetei, according to a release from the General Secretary, AMADA HQ.
Meanwhile, in a drive conducted by AMADA HQ, on women identified as Athokpam Bobby Devi (42) w.o A Haimo Singh resident of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapan, Makha Leirak was nabbed with 25 litres of local brew on January 30.The confiscated local brew was burned in front of the public and the woman has been entrusted to her family members after making her understand the consequence of her act, said a release from the Dy Secy Drive AMADA HQ.
The release also informed that the stolen items recovered from Keisampat Thokchom Leikai and Wahengbam Leikai has been returned to their rightful owners on January 31.It also thanked the locals of Wahengbam Leikai for the cooperation extended to AMADA.
