Rally bids at Keithel area stopped

The ongoing demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State continues unabated even though the State Government has withdrawn Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers Bill 2015 today in a special Assembly session.
Women vendors of all the three Ima Keithel of Khwairamband held protest rally twice raising slogans demanding implementation of ILPS in Manipur and resignation of all the 57 MLAs for failing to bring out a Bill.
The protesters also demanded that the State Government should not take three months just to frame a single Bill to save the indigenous people of the State.

Demonstrators who were staging a sit-in started marching towards Kangla Gate but they were stopped at the foot of BT Flyover and later turned back to the keithel area.
Another team of womenfolk also marched towards Thangal bazar but they were also stopped after a few meters by the security personnel.
The women vendors also observed a one minute silence to show respect to the departed soul of Sapam Robinhood.
All shops of Paona bazar and Thangal bazar remained closed in support of the ILP demand movement.
Sit-in protests were also held all over the valley districts demanding implementation of ILPS.
At Jiribam the Women Welfare Organisation Kangleipak (WWOK), Jiri Masha staged a sit-in protest demanding enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in the State at Babupara today, reports Jiri News Network.
Protesters held placards which read "Implement ILP in the State", "Punish the personnel involved in the killing of Robinhood" .
Women vendors of Thoubal bazar held a rally and staged a sit-in protest in the market area today.
Ching Tam Apunba Nupi Lup, Pallel also staged a sit-in protest.
A torch rally was also organised by the meira paibis of Wangjing Laishram Leikai and Yelangbam Leikai.
A rally demanding implementation of ILPS was jointly held by various student and meira paibi organisations, local clubs of Moirang area.
The rally was flagged off from Moirang bazar.
A short confrontation broke out between the police personnel and protesters when the latter reached Moirang Konjengbam.
After the two sides were pacified, protesters concluded the rally at Moirang bazar.
The rally was participated by around two thousand people.
