Imphal, June 22 2026: Langjing Achouba Meira Paibi members staged a protest today against the arrest of Arambai Tenggol (AT) members, condemning the NIA's move.

Speaking to the media, Langjing Apunba Meira Paibi member Atom Reena said that since die unrest began in May 2023, youths have been guarding localities under AT to protect the State.

She recalled that during President's Rule, AT members had surrendered arms following an understanding with the Governor, who assured them protection.

Reena strongly condemned the recent NIA arrests, urging the Government to stop detaining AT members.

She added that the arms were surrendered due to compelling circumstances and questioned why such action is being taken now.
