Free career counselling for students conducted

To assist the students in deciding over the suitable course of study that could be taken up in accordance to their aptitude and skills, the Vocational Guidance and Career Counselling Units of SCERT has conducted a six-day long free career guidance and counselling classes for students of high schools and secondary level.
Around 600 students from various high schools and higher secondary schools participated in the 6-day long free career guidance and counselling cum career exhibition which concluded at the building of District Institute of Education and Training located inside the campus of DM College, Imphal.
With an intake of 100 students every day, the free career guidance and counselling classes have been conducted with retired Guidance Officer of Government of Manipur Ksh Udoi and Counsellor of Education Department, Government of Manipur L Ibechaobi Devi as resource persons.
In connection with the free career guidance and counselling session, Officer in-charge of Vocational Guidance and Career Counselling Unit of SCERT Kh Ashokumar explained that the programme had been conducted to find out the inborn qualities of the students specially those studying in class X to XII as well as those who have passed class XII and give them more additional knowledge on ways and means of exploring these qualities.
Five institutes based outside Manipur have also participated in the free career guidance and counselling cum exhibition.
