Imphal, March 25 2012:
The rape of a mother of four at Mejrao by a gang of four persons including two IRB personnel has exposed the immoral training imparted by the State Police Department to its personnel, claimed the Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) today.
In a statement, chief of department of publicity of the outfit, Taohangsu Heiremcha said that women in Manipur must carry knives, blades, nails and other sharp tools with them to protect to protect their honour.
The statement added that Manipur Police Department has now become a haven for indisciplined, indecent and wicked personnel.
It has gradually come to light that 80 per cent of the heinous crimes against women have been committed by State security forces, he added.
Taohangsu Heiremcha said that instead of safeguarding the property and rights of the people of Manipur, State security personnel have started outraging the modesty of innocent women and looting people's properties.
People of Manipur must not remain silent and keep on watching such evil acts, he added.
Mentioning the rape of a woman from Khoubum Nungleiband at Meijrao, he said that the four 'demons' involved in the case could have killed the victim if her brother had not arrived in time.
Lessons of mobile snatching, extortion, raping and killing which were taught at their training school are being applied on innocent public by State security personnel, Taohangsu Heiremcha alleged.
He added, it could not be ruled out that State security personnel were involved in various cases of rape and murder of women happening in Manipur.
Such incidents will continue as long as the Government led by a puppet chief, who believes in innocent killing, continues in Manipur.
The Government concentrates more on recruitment of VDF, IRB, commando and police personnel instead of emphasising on human resource development, it added.
