Imphal, March 25 2012:
The Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) has claimed the responsibility for the attack on UKLF camp at Gamphazol village, Chandel in the wee hours of March 22 and said that it was carried out by a Mobile Task Force of its armed wing Kuki People's Army (KPA) .
In a statement, KNLF stated that the attack was carried out after giving due warning to the UKLF for their heinous crimes against Kuki people.
The Mobile Task Force of KPA could have killed all the UKLF cadres in the village on that day.
But their lives were spared as KNLF has no intention of killing innocent Kuki soldiers who have been misguided by Indian security forces.
Warning of further dreadful attacks, KNLF asked UKLF to stop crimes against Kuki people in particular and the people of Manipur in general.
It also warned UKLF to refrain from collaborating with the Indian security forces and appealed to the people of the state to cooperate with KNLF in their struggle for building up a strong and united Manipur.
