Zeliangrong bodies lift ban

Zeliangrong Civil Organization's complete ban on construction works of National projects which began from September 12 midnight, demanding arrest of NSCN (IM) functionaries namely Sangailung Pamei, CAO, Thailik alias Joel, Dy Kilonser and Khangdih Gangmei, for abduction of youth and student leaders on August 4 this year at Tamenglong district HQs and intimidation of leaders of Zeliangrong Civil Organisation, has been lifted on temporary basis with immediate effect from today depending on the follow up action of the State Government and GoI.
However, the ban on construction work of Imphal-Kangchup road under ADB funding will continue, said a statement of Gainithoi Gonmei, gen secretary, Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) The statement added that the decision to lift the ban was taken during a meeting with Chief Minister N Biren Singh at his office at about 11 am today.
He also mentioned that the CM assured a nine member delegation of Zeliangrong Civil Organizations led by Athuan Abonmai, president, Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) that necessary steps will be taken up in coordination with GoI.
The statement also mentioned that the organisation (ZCOs) felicitated N Biren Singh on being awarded the 3rd best Chief Minister of the country.
