Imphal, May 30 2014 :
The BJP State unit has finalized a stra-tegy to replace party president Th Chaoba soon after a new party president is elected at the Centre.
At present more than 10 senior party leaders including three former presidents have been camping at Manipur Bhavan, Delhi.
They have been lobbying with the party's central leaders at the organisational level to replace Th Chaoba and elect someone else in his place.
Meanwhile, the team led by Th Chaoba who were in Delhi for the past few days returned to Imphal today after calling on a dozen Union Ministers.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, the group presently camping at Delhi said that Chaoba went back after making courtesy calls on some Union Ministers.
The team led by Chaoba did not get any appointment to meet party leaders working at the organisational level.
Almost 99 per cent of the process charted out together with party's central leaders working at the organisational level in order to remove Th Chaoba from the post of BJP State unit president has been completed, claimed the anti-Chaoba group.
With party president Raj-nath Singh already inducted into the Union Cabinet, a new president would be elected in the next couple of days.
Soon after the party's new president is elected, due process would be initiated to replace the BJP Manipur unit president, they confided.
BJP State unit's faulty policies and the resultant administrative, financial and organisational failures are being studied by the party's central leaders.
In order to resolve the internal crisis besieging the State unit, BJP general secretary and North East in-charge Tapir Gao is likely to come to Imphal on June 3, the dissident group said.
They said that their campaign against Chaoba is not driven by any desire to take the post of party president.
It is driven by a conviction to strengthen the party and bring transparency in the party's administration.
No objection would be raised when any in-dividual who knows thoroug- hly the party's constitution and its provisions is appointed BJP State unit pre- sident, they assured.
On being asked who is being projected as the party's next president, they refused to name any one.
