4 snake bite victims saved

Imphal, July 19 2018:
Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles saved precious lives of four snakes bite victims.
The victims Mrs S Asalata, age 55 years, resident of Mongsanggai, Imphal West District, Mr Kh Ibobi Singh, age 64 years, resident of Taobungkhok Village, Imphal West District, Mrs Purnimashi devi, age 50 years, resident of Nambol, Bishenpur District and Mr Bhumeshswar, age 38 years resident of Bashikhong, Imphal East District were bitten by poisonous snakes in different instances and were immediately rushed to the Unit hospital.
The patients were readily attended by the medical team under the Regimental Medical Officer and were given immediate medical assistance and Anti venom serum.
The timely action of medical team not only saved their lives but also reinforced good faith amongst the locals.
Since the beginning of this year more than 120 cases of snake bite have been treated by Units of Assam Rifles in the Imphal valley.
The saving of precious lives has been possible due to the availability of anti venom serum with units which has catered for the additional requirement of treating the snake bite victims.
