AR man hurt in blast

Imphal, July 19 2018:
One Assam Rifles personnel was injured in a bomb blast that took place at Aibol Joupi village, near Indo-Myanmar border within Chakpikarong sub-division of Chandel district.
Troops of 29 AR were patrolling on foot along Molanghat track of Aibol Joupi when suspected militants triggered a bomb at around 6 am today which was followed by a volley of fire.
The AR troops retaliated immediately but it was not known whether there was any casualty on the side of the suspected militants.
The bomb was suspected to be an IED.
Rifleman Appu Verma sustained shrapnel injuries and he was immediately evacuated to Leimakhong military hospital in a helicopter.
His condition is said to be out of danger, informed a source.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by RPF Assistant Secretary, Publicity Bangkim and MNPF Assistant Secretary, Publicity L Zimik said that a joint team of PLA's 252 Mobile Battalion and MNPF attacked troops of 29 AR at Aibol village, Chandel district at around 5.30 am today.
The two outfits claimed that two AR personnel were killed in the attack apart from inflicting injuries to many others.
Apart from creating divisions and sowing seeds of animosity among different communities of the land, the Government of India has been plotting to disintegrate Manipur, the two outfits alleged.
They asserted that the armed struggle is the only wav to liberate Manipur.
