Imphal, July 19 2018:
Shiv Sena State unit president Moirangthem Thoibi has blasted the BJP stating that BJP's plan to create a Parliament/State Assembly without any Opposition party, is an impossible dream.
Speaking to media persons at Shiv Sena office at Babupara today, M Tombi said that the it is the responsibility of the Opposition to work for the welfare of the people and to point out any lapses in administrative process.
Tombi conveyed that the BJP led State Government does not bat an eyelid when the Opposition raise any issue and is stubborn enough not to take any positive suggestions offered by the Opposition.
Accusing the BJP led State Government of being arrogant, he questioned whether the BJP alone can face all the raging issues which are plaguing the State right now.
Pointing out that the Manipur University issue exploded due to lack of timely intervention by the State Government, the Shiv Sena State president lamented that the State Government has not made any arrangement to call an all political party meeting to resolve the issues.
The BJP is still acting like an arrogant and stubborn king, he alleged.
The Government is created by the people.
If the people are against the Government, it will not survive.
The Government's attempt to shield the VC of Manipur University despite opposition from the people, the students community and the teachers, is akin to ruining the future career of thousands of students, Tombi said.
Pointing out that the current protest is for education by demanding the removal of an irresponsible VC, Moirangthem Tombi condemned the police brutality against the protesting students.
He also conveyed that the rejection of the newly reconstituted enquiry committee by MUSU, MUTA and MUSA, will only drag on the issue.
Tombi further informed that he would leave Imphal for Mumbai tomorrpw to meet Shiv Sena National president Uddhav Thackeray on July 21.Tombi said that he would urge the party National president to bring the Framework Agreement, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 and the issues surrounding Indo-Myanmar border pillar 81 in Parliament.
