PNB donates medical equipment to Lamlai PHC

Imphal, October 25 2021:
Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of the leading nationalised banks of the country donated medical equipment worth Rs 10,00,000 (Rupees ten lakh only) under CSR activities to Lamlai PHC under Imphal East district today.
PNB in a press release, the medical equipment was handed over to Dr L Indira Devi, CMO of Imphal East district by Manish Debbarma, AGM & Circle Head, PNB Imphal Circle Office.
On the occasion, S Tombi Leima, mother of Saikhom Mirabai Chanu who has won silver medal in the recently held Tokyo Olympics was also present along with officials from PNB namely Songthu Stevan Aimol, Chief Manager, Y Ibochou Singh, Senior Manager of PNB and Dr N Charulata Devi, MO incharge of Lamlai PHC.

Speaking at the occasion, Manish Debbarma said that the medical equipment are donated as part of PNB's CSR activities and Lamlai PHC was chosen as it is located in the interior part of the district where upscaling of medical facilities is required.
He also mentioned that PNB has created a new Circle office in Imphal which will be the administrative office for the States of Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland.
The press release further mentioned that Saikhom Mirabai Chanu who is presently out of the State has also recommended Lamlai PHC as it comes under her constituency and there is a need for upscaling Lamlai PHC.
The programme was also attended by officials from District Administration and staff of PHC Lamlai, added the press release.
