Imphal, October 25 2021:
The Federation of Haomee has urged the Government to identify foreigners and deport them at the earliest to protect the indigenous people of the State.
In a statement issued today, FoH said after the Military took over control of the Government in Myanmar on February 1, 2021, Mizoram Government has given refuge to 12,939 Myanmar Nationals officially.
But as the Manipur Government has not open its door to Myanmar refugees, a number of foreigners are taking shelter at Moreh illegally, it claimed.
The federation also said that the recent arrest of 14 Myanmar Nationals from Imphal Airport while trying to board a flight to New Delhi with forged documents on September 30 and the arrest of a number of foreigners with fake Aadhaar cards are prime example that many foreigners are trying to enter Manipur illegally.
Saying that the influx of foreigners poses a threat to the very existence of the indigenous people, the statement urged the Government to do the needful FoH also questioned why the Inner Line Permit System is not implemented fully in the State.
