Manipur clinch Wushu championship title

Imphal, October 25 2021:
Manipur were crowned overall champions of the 20th Junior National Wushu Championship which concluded on Monday at Jalandhar, Punjab.
The state team won 25 gold, 19 silver and 15 bronze in Taolu competition, and 4 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze in Sanda event to lift the overall championship trophy.
During the competition, Yumlembam Echantombi Devi, Ngangom Kajal, Hanjabam Langlentimbi Devi, Thounganba Aheibam and Okram Iyathoi Meitei shone brightest for Manipur by securing three gold medals each.
Oinam Malemnganbi Devi, Leimapokpam Nelson Meitei and Wahengbam Bhumeswor Meitei were also impressive, winning two gold medals each.
Other gold medallists were Maisnam Diamond Singh, Nongmaithem Ningthiba, Carolina Chingkham, Laihram Newton Singh, Toijam Priyaluxmi Devi, Naresh Nongmaithem and Yengkhom Arnold Singh.
The state team was accompanied Konsam Hemchandra Singh (Taolu team manager), Mayanglambam Punshiva Meitei (Taolu coach), Moirangthem Ronel Singh (Sanda team manager) and Moirangthem Rameshchandra Singh (Sanda coach) .
