Imphal, February 10 2015:
The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has said that the NSCN (IM) is never considered as an enemy but it would counter any threat to Manipuri's unity through tough political and military strategies.
According to a statement of RPF issued by its Publicity Secretary Roben Khuman, the outfit is always ready to have talks with the NSCN (IM) if the latter wants.
The killing of one cadre and injuring of few other cadres of NSCN (IM) at Nambasi was an unfortunate incident.
A combat team of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of the RPF was preparing to carry out an attack on the Indian security forces.
However, the Assam Rifles team stayed back at Nambasi School compound and made the NSCN (IM) cadres to proceed towards the spot where the PLA cadres were hiding.
One cadre of the NSCN (IM) was eventually killed and some other cadres were injured in the ambush.
The PLA team also recovered one assault rifle from the NSCN (IM) cadres.
Later, the Assam Rifles and PLA cadres had fierce gunfight at Nambisa area.
The RPF paid revolutionary salute and offered no resistance to the family members of the deceased NSCN (IM) cadre while his body was being taken to his village.
The Indian security forces are using civilians as their shields and are authorized to oppress the people of Manipur.
They are also conducting covert/black operations to derail the revolutionary movement in the region, the statement said.
The RPF further maintained that the Indian security forces are the people's enemy and they are deployed in Manipur only to harass the civilians as evident from the recent protest by the locals of Tengnoupal against the Assam Rifles.
The RPF also clarified that the outfit is not related with the bomb blast at Nambasi on February 5 that claimed the life of one Adison Jajo (36)and injured another person Hitler Keishing (34) .
