'Taijijang locals yet to receive benefits of Govt schemes'

Though the State Government has acknowledged that development of hills areas is imperative to ensure inclusive development of the State, locals of Taijijang Village is still living today without receiving any benefits from the Government.
Taijijang Village, which is located 22 km towards North from Tamenglong District Head Quarters, is inhabited by nearly 200 people of Rongmei tribe.
Apart from not receiving benefits of the Government schemes, the village also doesn't have any hospital.
Speaking to this correspondent, Chairman of Taijijang Village, Athui Kamei said that the only primary school of the village, which is attended by 30 students, doesn't have proper infrastructures and staff.
As the village also doesn't have any Primary Health Centre and Pharmacy, the villagers had to go to other places for treatment, he said adding that poor road connectively is the other major problem that the villagers are facing.
He also expressed desire for the State Government to construct one bridge that connects Bomgaijang and Taijijang.
Maintaining that not a single locals of Taijijang Villages have received benefits from the Government till date, he urged the State Government to address the plight of the Taijijang villagers at the earliest.
