Separate AC call reverberates at sports meet

The Tangkhul Naga Zingtun Longphang, TNZL (Western Villages Association) of Ukhrul has voiced the demand for an additional seat in the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
This demand was put up when Outer Parliamentary MP Dr Lorho Pfoze visited Ukhrul today at the Tangkhul Naga Zingtun Longphang annual Sports / Cultural Festival.
The Chairman of TNZL, Mangang Raman said that the delimitation exercise in Manipur is likely to held very soon and which the MP himself would supervise the whole exercise.
He further said that people of west villages in Ukhrul yearn for a separate Western Tangkhul villages Assembly Constituency.
Raman went on to state that the Western villages of Ukhrul district have adequate population electorals for an Assembly seat.
Local Councillor Thuingahan Pheirim said that Western villages of Ukhrul district were carved out and added to Ukhrul and Chingai Assembly Constituencies.
Visiting MP who attended as the chief guest inaugurated IX Tangkhul Naga Zingtun Longphang annual Sports cum Cultural Festival at Tanrui village ground under LM block, Ukhrul District.
He said that annual sports and cultural activities for the 34 western villages to be one, each one to become good citizens is noted.
He urged the people to listen to the voice of the one who call each one of us.
The nine days sports cum cultural festival comprise football, volleyball, six a-side while cultural and literary items include quiz , youth parliament, Zingtun got Talent, tug of war, Bamboo climbing, Lungchan laa and folk dance.
