TRAU post 10 wicket win against ESU as PTRC hammer KCDO by 261 runs

TRAU notched up a comfortable 10 wicket win against ESU in the 2nd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2020 today as PTRC, Patsoi clinched an emphatic 261 run victory against KCDO, Kongpal in another league round (Group A) clash.
At Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, TRAU chased down 83 runs target set by ESU just 11.2 overs without losing any wicket to earn their second win of the tournament.
ESU which won and elected to bat first, managed a meagre 82 runs total losing all the wickets in 18.3 overs as Aditya, Indrakumar and Ronak shone in TRAU's bowling.
Rohit with 15 runs off 9 balls and Jenit with 13 runs were the only ESU batsmen who made double digit score in this innings while others including the openers got off the crease scoring below 10 or no run at all.
Aditya finished with best bowling figure of 3 wickets in 2.3 overs giving 5 runs in this innings and was latter named man of the match while Indrakumar and Ronak claimed two wickets each.
Zenith and Rojit too made their names on the scoresheet by picking up a wicket apiece.
The chase was easy as ESU provided 32 runs extra besides Apanba and Somokanta's knock of 10 and 37 runs respectively making the chase complete in just 11.2 overs.
Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground, KCDO had to rue their decision to field first as Jotin hit an unbeaten ton with 119 runs off 61 balls after Joyraj's knock of 79 runs in 55 balls to help PTRC post a huge total of 277 runs for 5.KCDO's Kenneth claimed two wickets in the first innings while Ringku, Nganba and Manglemba picked up a wicket each before their embarrassing breakdown with just 16 runs in the chase as Jotin of PTRC wreaked havoc across their batting line up by claiming 8 wickets alone off 6 overs and Joyraj managed the other two wickets to set up the huge win.
6 batsmen of KCDO including the two openers went out on ducks and Nirson with 5 runs was the top scorer for the team.
Eventually, Jotin was adjudged man of the match.
The win (third) lifted PTRC to second place in Group A table with 12 points off 4 matches as TRAU continued to struggle at fifth place with 8 points from two wins in 5 matches.
