Many condemn suspicious death of Washima, JAC gives 48 hrs to book culprits

Condemning the suspicious death of Khullakpam Washima (19), Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has assured to support any movement taken up by the JAC concerned in delivering justice for the 19 year old girl.
Speaking to media persons at MMWO office in Hafiz Hatta today, spokesperson of MMWO, women wing Yumkhaibam (o) Roji said that the State Government should nab the culprit(s), who committed the heinous crime of tying up the hands and feet of the girl and allegedly killing the girl, at the earliest.
Maintaining that such inhumane act has happened in the past too, she alleged that the failure of the State Government to serve befitting punishment to culprits in time has led such incidents to happen frequently.
Roji reiterated that MMWO will back any movement of the JAC.
It may be mentioned that the 19 year old girl of Yairipok Tulihal Mayai Leikai was found dead at a roadside canal near Irong Chesaba Salam Achouba Thumukom yesterday morning.
On the other hand, the Yairipok Tulihal JAC has given 48 hours to the Government to book the culprits.
Meanwhile, one Md Shahid (25) of Yairipok Changamdabi Mathak Leikai was handed over to the police by the locals for his alleged involvement in the death of Washima.
Irong Chesaba Development Forum and Iamiat-Ul-Ulema, Irong Chesaba have strongly condemned the death of the girl.
The Irong Chesaba Development Forum, in a statement, has demanded the State Government to book the miscreant(s) immediately and to serve punishment after following legal proceedings.
Tulihal Educated Association has also condemned the death of Washima, d/o Md Janamuddin.
On the other hand, a press release issued by president of the association stated that Khullakpam Washima was found dead in a farm at Irong Ikop Pat on January 27.Expressing heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family, the association has sought the attention of the Chief Minister to arrest the culprit(s) at the earliest.
