New Delhi, July 26 2009:
Five Indian fencers and their coach, returning after a good showing at the Junior Asian and Cadet Championship in Singapore, have tested positive for the H1N1 Influenza virus.
On their return to India on Wednesday, a few of the 34-member contingent were found to have symptoms and were admitted to the international airport's isolation facility.
On Friday night, the National Institute of Communicable Diseases confirmed that five fencers were infected.
On Saturday, one more member of the squad was found to be infected.
The infected, who belong to Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur and Haryana, are in the isolation ward of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi.
