Imphal, July 26 2009:
The 2006 UADC Appointees Welfare Association has clarified that there was no case of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ukhrul Autonomous District Coun cil deducting salaries entitled to 186 primary teachers who were appointed in 2006.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, advisor of the 2006 UADC Appointees Welfare Association, Ashang Kasar maintained salaries of eight months (up to April 2009) have been disbursed to the 186 primary teachers.
The allegation of some teachers that the CEO had de ducted four months' salaries was baseless.
The teachers even staged a protest sitting at Adimjati on July 23 raising the same allegation.
Ashang Kasar asserted that the allegation was made with a vested interest.
"They should put forward their demand to the Govern ment first before staging the protest demonstration", the advisor said.
He further questioned as to why these teachers raised their allegation (if it is true) two years after their salaries for up to April 2009 were disbursed.
The CEO is currently working hard to pay pending sala ries to the 186 primary teachers, claimed Ashang Kasar.
