Two State fencers were among four players who tested positive for swine flu on their return from Singapore, where they competed in the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships.
They were a part of a 30 member team that arrived at Delhi airport in the night July 22 from Singapore.
All the 30 members were screened at the airport.
While four of them tested positive, the rest were confirmed negative.
The four fencers including two from Manipur and another two from Tamil Nadu were quarantined and treated at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi.
Three other Manipuri players who took part in the championships have already arrived at Imphal.
Out of them, one girl fencer from Imphal East district was suffering from intense fever.
She has been put under vigil of a local doctor.
The girl fencer, who arrived at Imphal earlier and was suffering from intense fever was examined by a team of doctors today.
No symp toms suggestive of swine flu was observed on the girl.
The State Health Services has also taken up stringent measures to contain any possible outbreak of swine flu in the State, informed an official source.
A training session of Rapid Response Team would be organised next month at Imphal under the sponsorship of the Government of India, added the source.
Meanwhile, the four fencers who were treated at Ram Manohar Lohia hospital have been discharged today along with their coach who tested negative.
"All the children were discharged from the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital today.
They are healthy and ready to return to their native states," Arun Kumar Vij, Secretary General of the Fencing Association of India, told PTI.
The two fencers from Manipur another two from Tamil Nadu had tested positive for the H1NI virus on their return from the Asian Junior and Cadet Champi onship in Singapore.
Vij said coach Lalit Kumar has tested negative.
"Lalit Kumar's report has also come negative.
Natu rally this news has brought relief," he said.
More than 30 Indian fencers, along with their coaches, had gone to Singapore to participate in the championship held from July 15 to 21 .
They returned on the night of July 22 and probably got infected from a fellow passenger.
After two State players were tested positive of swine flu at Delhi on their return from Singapore, a high-alert has been sounded in Manipur against the viral disease.
