Imphal, February 15 2022:
Rejecting the allegations levelled by the NPF as baseless, immature and malicious, BJP Chandel district said that he party's candidates don't need help of any militant to win the election as people have already shown their support and faith on BJP to represent them in the coming days.
In a release, BJP Chandel president Sk Angshel asserted that the Naga People's Front (NPF) sponsored rally taken out on February 10 in Chandel town without permission from Election Commission of India (ECI) was against the guidelines issued by ECI.
On the same day, some so-called NPF supporters briefed the media claiming that, one D Johny Lamkang of NSCN/GPRN is backing the BJP candidate and made an announcement to the people to support BJP candidate which never happened, he clarified, while asserting that it is purely an act of frustration and cooking up story is part of NPF's psychological media warfare.
Stating that BJP Chandel District is closely observing the activities of NPF within Chandel district H/Q, Chakpikarong and Anal Western Valley areas, the president continued that NPF is repeatedly provoking BJP supporters and workers with lathis on their hands.
Angsel claimed that BJP has been serving the people in every field for which the people of the district are waiting for the polling day to cast their votes to BJP candidate.
Realising that BJP is winning the upcoming Assembly election, NPF is nervous and tirelessly planning to incite communal violence in the district, the president alleged.
While advising the NPF to work from the grassroots level to win the heart of the general populace instead of scheming to create issues, Angsel said that BJP Chandel district has always been campaigning for 'free and fair' conduct of the election for the past many years .
