Training on food processing conducted

Imphal, September 20 2022:
A three-day agri-business incubation training programme on "Entrepreneurship Development Through Food Processing" was organised by ICAR-KVK Churachandpur from September 17 at KVK Churachandpur.
The training programme attended by 21 trainees from different parts of the district was inaugurated with ICM Imphal director Dr K Joychandra Singh as chief guest in the presence of ICAR NEH Region, Manipur Centre joint director Dr I Meghachandra Singh, ICAR Umiam principal scientist Dr G Kadirvel, ICDS/Churachandpur Child Development project officer RK Banita Devi and ICAR Manipur scientist Dr SS Roy.
The dignitaries distributed various inputs need for food processing, highlighted the importance of the training programme and encouraged the trainees to utilise the facilities available with ABI in ICAR Manipur Centre for processing, packaging, branding, certification, marketing, etc., to become successful entrepreneurs.
A special lecture was delivered by Dr G Kadirvel on 'Agri-Business Incubation and its prospects'.
Later, KVK Churachandpur CTO (Home Science) Dr S Roma Devi conducted hands-on demonstration and practical on various food processing and preservatives techniques to enable and equip the trainees start their own incubation and start-ups.
