Letpao HC celebrates foundation day

Letpao Healthcare Centre, Motbung celebrated its first foundation at Motbung model village on Tuesday with Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom-Saparmeina principal Dr Ngamkhohao Haokip as chief guest.
Former member of ADC Sadar Hills Kaikhosei Lhouvum, chief of Motbung model village, various village chiefs and civil society organisation leaders also attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ngamkhoha'o asserted that the growth and development of any institution lies on the contribution of all staff from sweeper to peon and the topmost post.
A blessing prayer was performed by Pastor K Phoipi while chief of Motbung Kaikhosei Lhouvum, who is also the ex-executive member of ADC Sadar Hills and various other CSOs leaders including Saitu Block Chiefs' Association leader also spoke on the occasion.
Cultural dances and choreography from the healthcare staff marked the occasion.
According to Centre's proprietor David Lhouvum, among many other commendable achievements made by the centre during the last one year, the biggest achievement was the removal of a kidney stone measuring about 4.6 cm, the biggest ever recorded in the state, by a team of surgeons of the healthcare centre.
He also highlighted the successful Basal/Corti-cal implant, which is also the first case in the state.
According to Dr David Lhouvum, the process took about five days to complete and the implants have been fixed with its prosthesis (6 to 6) and in total 24 prostheses in a single patient.
The centre has provided healthcare services to more than 6500 patients across the district and the state in various departments such as medicine, paediatric, surgery, gynaecology, skin, chest, orthopaedics, palliative care, dental among others during one short year, he said.
