Training on plant protection, bio input held

Terrain Organic FPC under the aegis of Sarveshwar Food Limited organised a one-day training programme on 'Plant Protection and Farm Bio Input' at G Sapermeina CC Hall, Kangpokpi on Tuesday.
During the training programme organised under Mission Organic Value Chain Development North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER-Phase III) with the support of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), KVK Senapati subject matter specialist (plant protection) Dr David Kamei and farm manager Homen Kangjam spoke as resource persons and highlighted the importance of plant protection and farm management techniques for growers of organic turmeric.
According to Kiwi Project manager Khaidem Premjit, the training was organised in view of the farmers' need to have better knowledge about the production techniques of turmeric and kiwi for large-scale organic produce.
Turmeric has always been a popular crop for food, medicinal purposes and cosmetics and added to this, it is produced organically.
As such, there is the need to grow the crop on a wider scale, he added.
Terrain FPC CEO Thang Serto and staff of Sarvesh war Foods Ltd also took great initiatives in successful conduct of the training programme participated by around 75 farmers.
