Foundation laid for health facility, park in Noney district

A foundation stone laying programme for Trauma Care Centre and Blood Bank was held at Nungba Community Health Centre Complex, Noney district on Tuesday, with Health & Family Welfare & IPR minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh attending as chief guest in the presence of Hill Areas Committee (HAC) chairman Dipu Gangmei, Health Services director Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangan, State Mission director Dr Ningombam Somorjit Singh.
The project for the Trauma Care Centre and Blood Bank is funded by the Ministry of Development of North East Region (DoNER) under North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS).
The project cost for the Trauma Centre of Rs 4 crore while an amount of Rs 2.5 crore has been set aside for the Blood Bank.
The construction will be carried out by the Engineering Cell of Health & Family Welfare, Manipur and it is targeted for completion within 6 months.
Speaking at the event, minister Dr Sapam Ranjan informed that the government is focusing on providing basic health services to the people of Manipur by reaching out to even the remotest parts of the state by launching CM Health for All programme for screening and diagnosing ailments door to door.
The state government has implemented CMHT schemes for poor families with a medical assistance of Rs 5 lakh and is also providing free health delivery system, he added.
The minister further informed that the government is targeting to eliminate Tuberculosis (TB) by 2025, adding all MLAs and ministers are to adopt TB patients and take care of their medical expenses in their respective constituencies.
Later, the ministerial team inspected the condition of Nungba CHC and oxygen plant, during which Dr Ranjan assured that he would consult the chief minister about the shortage of manpower and solve the issue of staffing and medical equipment.
The programme was attended by officials of health services and engineering cell, public leaders, village authority leaders and CSO leaders.
Health & Family Welfare minister Dr Ranjan Sapam also laid the foun.-dation stone for the construction of Amusement Park in presence of HAC chairman Dipu Gangmei.
The Amusement Park will be constructed by Manipur Police Housing Corporation under Capital Project with a cost of 4.8 crore.
The construction period will be 8 months.
The park will be built on 5 acres of land.
The minister also inspected to the site for the construction of a 50-bedded hospital at Rangpang near NH-37 .
