Imphal, September 20 2022:
Manipur People's Party (MPP) vice president and Central Committee member Y Priyokumar has informed that in accordance with clause 29 of the party's constitution, the Central Committee of MPP has called for a requisition meeting against the party's president on October 20.Addressing a press meet held at Thouda Bhabok Leikai here on Tuesday afternoon, Priyokumar recounted that on June 3, the party president was requested in writing by.
10 members of the Committee to convene a meeting of the Central Committee, which he (president) failed to do so since he took office.
However, the president did not give any response on the matter.
On June 23, a meeting of the Central Committee took place but the existing Committee members were not informed beforehand of the same.
The invitation for the meeting was given to only those close to the president and he (president) refused to postpone the meeting when requested by the Central Committee members.
On July 4, the 49 members of the Central Committee signed a letter, requesting the party president to hold a meeting of the Committee but the request was rejected.
During the June 23 meeting, which was held fraudulently, the Committee appointed an SRO, who, without issuing an election notification, appointed VPs and members of subordinate committees (Working Committee, Election Committee and Disciplinary Committee) in violation of the election rules of MPP.
The Working Committee president, who was appointed in violation of MPP's constitution, is now dissolving and moving the district committees of the party as per the instruction of the MPP president.
Not only is the president abusing his powers to dismiss/fire the members of the Central Committee, he is also misappropriating the party s funds in violation of the finance rules of MPP.
Thus, taking all these issues into mind, the existing members of the Central Committee of MPP have called for a requisition meeting against the party president on October 29 as per Clause 29 of the party 's constitution, he conveyed.
