Imphal, September 02 2021:
In view of the number of Covid-19 cases in the state declining in the last two-three weeks and possibility of spread of the infectious disease among family members where housing condition are not conducive for home isolation, Health Services director Dr K Rajo has instructed all the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) not to encourage home isolation of Covid-19 positive cases.
In an office memorandum, Dr Rajo said fresh cases should be referred to CCC or Covid Isolation ward/ hospital while only those cases that fulfil the eligible criteria for home isolation may be allowed after physical home visit/verification by the medical team.
If a Covid-19 positive case request for home isolation; a physical visit by the medical team should be undertaken on the same day to confirm the eligibility.
The permission for home isolation should be given only after the physical/home inspection feasibility report countersigned by Chief Medical Officer/DNO and submission of undertaking by the patient as self-isolation, he added.
