Biswajit inaugurates

Observing that politics is meant for working for the welfare of the people, RD & PR Minister Thongam Biswajit has appealed to all to leave aside political differences and cooperate with the developmental works taken up in their respective constituencies.
Seeking public support towards the State Government for at least 10 years, he said that people will witness tremendous changes in the State within the said period.
Speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function of the Multipurpose Community Hall at Singjamei Wangma Pebiya Pandit Leikai in Imphal East today, Biswajit noted that the concept of violating the fundamental rights of people anti-thesis to democracy.
He went on to state that misuse of politics and wrong interpretation of politics have often created rift in the relationship between politicians and the public.
The RD Minister said he does not want to remain confined as a representative for too long and wish to hand over the responsibility of an MLA to some other competent/deserving youth in his constituency after bringing significant development in his constituency and in the State.
Stressing on the importance of bringing inclusive development in the State, Biswajit opined that a Minister cannot work by solely focusing on his/her constituency alone.
Biswajit conveyed that he did not utilize any additional fund meant for his constituency although he took special monetary aid/assistance from the Minister of Road, Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari for repairing the roads in his AG after convincing the latter about the prolonged negligence of the roads by the Government while he was in the Opposition.
Highlighting the changes brought in the State after BJP came to power, he maintained that the Government has implemented several welfare schemes for me people besides carrying out several developmental works.
The Government has even started inducting women polo players in the State Government Departments recently with the aim of promoting and sustaining the indigenous game.
Emphasizing on transparency while utilising the MLA Local Area Development Fund, Biswajit underscored the importance of checking and enquiring into the maintenance of the said fund by the public to make the Government accountable.
He then asked the people of Singjamei Wangma Pebiya Pandit Leikai and Thongju A/C as a whole to gather once in a week or in a fortnight in their respective localities to discuss any lapses or developmental works in their respective constituencies.
Assuring that MUDRA loan will be provided to deserving beneficiaries in the said locality and his constituency, he asked all weavers to obtain weavers' card in order to get the loan.
The Minister further exhorted the people to groom the youth by tapping their talents and informed that four Table Tennis boards will be equipped in the community hall (which was inaugurated today and organized a training course for the said indoor game there).
He also asked the locals to cooperate towards installation of solar panels in the locality from Singjamei to Ningomthong at the earliest.
The function organized by the Construction Committee, Community Hall, Pebiya Pandit Leikai was also attended by the committee's member Nandeibam Shajou Singh, Torban Kshetri Leikai GP Pradhan Longjam ongbi Chaobi Devi as the president and guest of honour among others.
Later, the Minister also inaugurated a newly completed 1st floor building of Youth Welfare Club, Sairom Leirak in the AC.
Bashikhong ZP Chirom Jashobanta (Romeo) and Thongju Part 1 GP Member Thongam Lata Devi were present at me inaugural function held at the community hall of Sairom Leirak.
Speaking as chief guest, Biswajit assured that a water supply project under NEC will be constructed at Sairom Leirak by December this year and water supply will be initiated from April or May next year, after completing the construction by March the same year.
