Imphal, September 21:
The State Govt has vehemently refuted the news reports which appeared in a section of the State dailies that Congress MLAs are camping at New Delhi to urge for the ouster of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.
The Power Minister also refuted the report that none of the MLAs responded to the dinner invitation of the CM.
In a statement, Gaikhangam denied that there is any difference among the members of the CLP and SPF Legislature Party members.
He also denied that the CM had invited the MLAs for dinner.
The news report was baseless and smacked of a conspiracy to destabilize the Govt, Gaikhangam said.
He asserted that the main motive of the Chief Minister's recent visit was to finalize the State plan size and exert pressure on the officials of the Planning Commission for sanctioning more funds for taking up developmental activities in the State.
Informing that the Chief Minister also met other Central leaders and discussed necessary measures for restoring peace and normalcy in the State, Government spokesman said publication of such false reports at such a critical juncture was unfortunate.
