Marred by absence of climbers from the region, barring Meghalaya State, the three day 6th North East Zone Sports Climbing Competition 2004 held at MMTA complex, Minuthong concluded today with the host State climbers sweeping the top titles in various categories.
In the men's open category Puyam Subhash achieved 70 holes within the allotted time of seven minutes to wrest the title with the junior girls� honour going to S Debala with a timing of 3:17.05.The top title in women's competition was bagged by Ph Shantirani who clocked 3:13.44 while junior boys' title was secured by Leishangthem Imo (4:19.32).In men's speed climbing final, Meghalaya's K Wallambok Lyngdoh timed 10.84 seconds to occupy the top spot followed by N Chitrasen (12.07) and P Shubhash (12.42) of Manipur in the second and third position respectively.
In women's final, Khumanthem Dasini ranked first clocking 16.91 as Ph Shantirani (19.01) and Langpoklakpam Keinatombi (20.16) finished second and third respectively.
The junior boys honour of the competition went to M Shyason (15.06) with Oinam Chingshanglakpa (19.02) and Thongam Ranjan Meetei (19.06) settling for second and third spots.
S Debala clocked 18.71 sees to claim the junior girls' top title with Kh Rina Chanu (32.79) securing the runner-up position and Shehnaz (41.45) third.
