Imphal, May 20 2013:
Amidst the irregularity of SK Oil distribution in the State, the Petroleum, Planning and Analysis Cell, New Delhi has cut down 32000 ltr of the State share of SK Oil without any rhyme or reason.
Adding to this woe, 188 kl out of the total sanctioned share is stored at Govt's pool.
The State share of SK oil for the first quarter (Apr-Jun) of the current financial year is 6240 kl.
Out of this, only 5052 kl is distributed to the districts through SK Oil dealers while the remaining 1188 kl is stored at Govt's pool.
In the last quarters of financial year 2012-13 (Jan-Mar), the State had received 6336 kl of SK Oil.
Speaking to media persons at Hotel Imphal today, representatives of All Manipur SK Oil Deaslers' Association said the Govt of Manipur is maintaining a silence over the matter of deducting the SK Oil share of the State.
They also said that the practice of detaining some amounts of the SK Oil at Govt Pool is unknown in the past.
They also said that Krishna Premi Oil Pump, where the Govt Pool's of SK Oil is stocked, has no storage capacity beyond 20000ltr.It is pertinent to mention that the SK Oil that is said to be kept in Govt Pool is more than the SK Oil allocated to Ukhrul, Chandel and Tamenglong districts under PDS.
The representatives have drawn the attention of the concerned authority in this regard.
