Rs.500 cr to be sanctioned for projs under SPA

The State government is set to complete various ongoing projects and take up new ones in the fiscal year 2013-14 with a fund of Rs.500 crores to be sanctioned under the Special Plan Assistance (SPA) .
Out of Rs.500 crores, the Centre holds 90 percent share amounting to Rs.450 crores while the State's share in the projects is just 10 percent, amounting to Rs.50 crores.
According to an official source, the State government will utilize the fund in nine ongoing projects and five new projects to be implemented in the current financial year.
The ongoing projects that come under Works Department are Capitol Project for an amount of Rs.73.37 crores and construction of Mini Secretariats in hill districts for Rs.22.22 crores.
The project under Health Department is infrastructural development of JNIMS for an amount of Rs.66.69 crores and Rs.16.69 crores for conservation and management of Loktak Lake under Loktak Development Authority.
The projects to be taken up further under Planning Department are Tribal Areas Inclusive Growth Infrastructure Project in 10 Blocks (Phase-I) for an amount of Rs.33.33 crores and Tribal Areas Inclusive Growth Infrastructure Project in 17 Blocks (Phase-II) for Rs.33.33 crores.
Sericulture Department will also take up Sericulture Project Phase-II for an amount of Rs.16.69 crores while Tribal Development and Hills Department will implement the construction of barrack-type quarters for primary teachers under ADC for Rs.27.78 crores.
Power Department will also take up the installation of 33 KVA Line and 2-5 MVA, 33/11 KV sub-station at Thoubal Leishangthem for Rs.6.52 crores.
New projects that will be taken up under SPA are setting up of ITSEZ at Mantripukhri under Information Technology Department for Rs.22.22 crores, construction of six children homes under Social Welfare Department for Rs.12 crores, flood control and anti-erosion scheme under IFCD for Rs.44.44 crores, hill-valley connectivity project under Road & Bridge for Rs.113.69 crores and augmentation of security infrastructure in hill districts under Home Department for Rs.11.11 crores.
The source further mentioned that a total of Rs.9463 lakhs has been proposed for projects to be taken up under Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) in the financial year 2013-24.The proposed fund includes Rs.911 lakhs for Transport (Road and Bridges), Rs.3959 lakhs for Energy (Power), Rs.506 lakh for Education (S), Rs.460 lakhs for higher education, Rs.111 lakhs for technical education, Rs.910 lakh for Youth Affairs and Sports, Rs.845 lakh for health, Rs.707 lakh for PHED and Rs.1055 lakhs for Tribal Affairs and Hills out of which Rs.587 lakhs is for tribal affairs and Rs.469 lakhs for district councils.
Meanwhile, the total proposed fund for the financial year 2013-14 under North Eastern Council is Rs.4482 lakhs out of which Rs.334.06 lakhs is for agriculture, horticulture and fisheries, Rs.330.16 lakhs for IFC (F&MI), Rs.698.08 lakhs for industries and minerals, Rs.1561 lakhs for transport, Rs.160 lakhs for science and technology, Rs.261.50 lakhs for science and technology and Rs.1080.15 lakhs for social service, education, A&C, health and PHED, the source added.
