Constitution needs to be changed: Ibohalbi

Imphal, May 20 2013:
In order to allow the people of the State to settle in any part of Manipur, whether in the hills or the plains, MLA Dr I Ibohalbi has asserted that there is the need to change the Constitution for the State of Manipur at least.
Addressing media persons in his official quarters here today, Dr Ibohalbi informed that on May 18 he along with some members of All India Trinamool Congress, Ukhrul block visited Sailent village to take stock of the condition of the villagers who have been left homeless after people of neighbouring Seijang villagers burnt them down over a land dispute.
Though the State Government and various other CSOs of the State have provided relief materials, the affected villagers of Silent village are still yet to be given the assurance of providing resettlement and rehabilitation by the State Government.
He further said that we should all come together as one and live in peace.
At the same time, the State Government should make a policy and change the constitution so that every Manipuri can settle in the any place of the State.
He also congratulated the 6 state climbers who conquered Mount Everest and noted that the Manipur always outshines others in the field of sports.
