Imphal, August 13, 2012:
he Coordination Committee (CorCom) of KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK (Pro), RPF, UNLF and UPPK has condemned the bomb attack allegedly carried out by a faction of MDF at the residence of AMWJU president A Mobi at about 8.30 pm of August 11. The act did not befit any revolutionary group struggling for welfare of the mass, said a press release issued by CorCom's media coordinator H Poirei.
Such attacks are part of the sinister ploy followed by security forces and their stooges in the garb of revolutionary cadres with an ulterior motive to project the liberation movement in wrong light.
Observing that journalists have been carrying out their duties on the principle of 'neither friends, nor foe', the CorCom noted that the profession of journalism is full of risks and difficulties which also demands toiling at odd hours.
The profession is even more risky in Manipur where security forces and police commandos have been continually harassing the journalist fraternity who are also compelled to endure the repeated assaults from armed elements masquerading as revolutionary cadres.
Every one should acknowledge and respect the journalist fraternity who are working for the mass and struggling for a social change, CorCom asserted.
