Scribes rally against bomb attack

Suspending the day's duty, journalists fraternity of Manipur held a marathon meeting on Sunday at Manipur Press Club before taking out a protest rally at the State capital in denunciation of the bomb attack at the residence of AMWJU president A Mobi.
The meeting presided by AMWJU vice-president Witoubou Newmai took a resolution to condemn the bomb attack.
After the meeting, the media persons took out a protest rally from Manipur Press Club to the offices of Home Minister Gaikhangam and Chief Minister O Ibobi to whom they submitted copies of a memorandum.
The main demands/points of the memorandum are ensuring a secured atmosphere where media persons can work freely and without fear, provision of foolproof security at residences of Editors and office bearers of AMWJU, replacement of VDF personnel currently deployed at media houses with police personnel personnel and institution personnel and institution of an enquiry into the bomb attack and book the culprits according to finding of the enquiry.
Meanwhile, people of Thongju Pechu Lampak, the native place of AMWJU president A Mobi staged a protest demonstration against the bomb attack yesterday.
