Driver, helper hurt

Imphal, August 13, 2012:
A driver and his assistant sustained injuries when their truck went out of control and fell about 100 feet along NH-37 between milestones 42 and 43 yesterday.
The ill-fated truck was heading for Jiribam from Imphal and it was driven by Asem Jitendra of Nambol Kha-Jiri with Sushilkumar as his assistant.
Both of the them were picked up in time from the spot by a team of 86th Bn CRPF posted at Sehjang and brought to RIMS after giving first aid.
Driver Jitendra was referred to Shija from RIMS as his condition was said to be more serious and there he underwent a surgical operation today.
Sushilkumar was discharged yesterday itself after giving some minor treatment.
