MP Thangso, Kuki Inpi, MEEKHOL hail Mary Kom

Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Outer Parliamentary Constituency Thangso Baite has conveyed his gratitude and congratulation to Mary Kom for her achievement at the London Olympic 2012. "The achievement is unprecedented and a landmark for the state and the country as a whole, despite she played in a higher weight (51 Kg).
Her homecoming with the bronze medal is in fact a great achievement," the MP said in statement.
Further, the MP observed that the the success story of M C Mary Kom could inspire the heart of millions and keep immortal record in the history of sports in the state.
Stating that the performance of Mary Kom, who won a bronze medal in the international mega sporting event in the 51 Kg Fly Weight Category, "is a historic and unprecedented", Kuki Inpi said it deserves to be lauded and overjoy by the people of the state.
In another statement, Kuki Inpi has stated that the success of M C Mary Kom who hails from a small hilly state and went on to become not only 5 times World Women Boxing championship to a bronze medalist in the world famous Olympic Games is not because of gifted but due to firm determination and hard labour by the pugilist.
And we believe it will surely inspire the hearts of the young spirited sports persons in the days to come.
However, lamenting over the "meagre" reward packages announced to Mary Kom by the state government, Kuki Inpi expressed it's dissatisfaction and pointed out that the package is too meagre as to compare the reward packages given by other States to their Olympic medalists.
So, the government is requested to consider their earliest decision and make higher and better reward package as deemed it.
Conveying congratulating message to Mary Kom, Moumnu Ereikkombi Lup (MEEKHOL) also thanked the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam for announcing a monetary incentive for Mary Kom.
