Mass Covid vaccination camps held

Covid vaccination programmes continued at different places across the State today with an aim to protect the people from COVID-19 pandemic.
Imphal East
A Covid vaccination programme was held at Kusum Oil Pump at Konungmamang today organised jointly by Saina Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) Porompat and MAMI TV under the aegis of CMO Imphal East.
Speaking on the occasion, managing director of SIMS, Dr S Kumar stressed on the need to get vaccinated which is one of the most important precautionary measures against COVID-19.He stated that Covid vaccines have been approved by the competent authorities concerned and appealed to all to support the mass Covid vaccination drives taken up by the Government across the State and strive for a Covid free Manipur.
In today's vaccination programme, they have an aim to vaccinate around 250 persons, he added.
Mayang Imphal
A mass vaccination camp was held at Madrasa Majhur Ullum in Mayang Imphal AC today for Muslim communities of Bengun area under the supervision of Deputy Speaker Kongkhan Robindro.
The mass vaccination which was jointly organised by religious leaders, CSOs, clubs and Mayang Imphal Municipal Council officials saw many people above 18 years of age, especially Muslim men and women from 23/23 and 23/ 24 polling stations coining out voluntarily to get vaccinated.
Kongkham Robindro personally stayed and inspected the vaccination camp to ensure all the SOP are observed in the camp.
Abdullah Phundreimayum, member of Joint Committe on COVID-19 Manipur, said there has been major efforts from some people to dissuade the people, especially Muslim community, from getting the vaccine by spreading false information and fake news.
This was very unfortunate and should not be believed, he added.
He further added that mass vaccination coupled with observing SOP was the best way to stay safe from the virus and if maximum of the population were vaccinated, the lockdown and curfew imposed in the State might be lifted.
Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC
A mass vaccination programme for CO VID-19 was organised at Kumari High School, Hiyangthang in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC today.
The vaccination camp was organised by Oinam Malesh, state executive member BJP Manipur Pradesh, along with 6 youth clubs of the locality under the supervision of National Health Mission, Manipur.
Speaking at the event, O Malesh said every eligible individual should get vaccinated at the earliest to ensure that the impact of a possible third wave is minimised or altogether prevented from happening in the State.
O Malesh also extended financial assistance to the youth clubs to aid in their fight against the pandemic.
